Evaporative Type water cooler

Someone made something similar to this but can't seem to find the thread. I sketched this out how I would do it, anyone see any big issues or have any expierience in this area?

His looks to be a beast! I lived in New Mexico for a while so I am very familiar with swamp cooling lol. I would have no problem getting a cool water source down there. The one I am trying to desing is more for indoor use, as my current still is a stove top one. so I think my sketch should work for the scale I am thinking, but I am not sure how tall I would need it to be. Sit it in the sink, or on the floor? I am thinking prolly on the floor. My still is a 22 litre still and outputs maybe 1 L per hr. I could sit down and do all the engineering analysis but I am rusty and this would be a pain in the arse lol

A limiting factor will probably be the push strength of your pump. Mine is rated at 9' and I think it was barely enough. They seem to get weaker over time. I burnt mine up on the last run and will next buy one rated higher, 12' ?

Edit, just read you have a stove top still. You won't need something as big as ours. Design an "indoor" model, be sure to post pics and reviews to help others along...

okay good to know, my current pump i just got is rated for 3.5 m, so should be okay for a while i geuss. I also had another small pump i had previously bought, weak sauce, but wa thing to put it in the resevoir to recirculate some water back to the top of the column. any takes on that?
