Well, the hurricane knocked out power for a few days so my boiler took a little longer than expected, but I finally got it running. Here's a youtube video of my cleaning run. 25% vinegar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VaZlZg8bA0

Also, did my first real run late last night, and I must say... I am absolutely amazed at the performance and adjustability of the flute/controller combo. I started with a 9% wash of UJSSM with Panela substituted as sugar. I took off 85-90% almost the entire run. There were a few gaps in between were it "fell off" and I would have to go full reflux to stabalize the column, but I'm sure I will learn to fine tune it. It ran at almost a constant 180F. A little high from the others I've seen, but I know every flute is different. By the time the run was over, I had collected far more than any previous run and at higher quality. I guess it's time to pay it back and donate to the site now. Thank you all for helping along the way. Another youtube video in a little while.

Hey shinendine, what size and depth is that box your using for that controller? I like that setup you have there (in fact the whole damn thing looks awesome) I would like to add some fans to a box like yours. Do you have one fan pushing in cool air and one pulling out air? And are they on a thermostat,of some kind. Thanks for the info.

The box is a fiberglass encolsure, 10"Hx 7"Wx 3.5"D. One fan in, one fan out. No thermostat. 120V wired parallel to coil on 40A contactor, so when I flip the switch they come on. It ran for a total of 6 hours with no heat issues. I thought that SSR would crank out more heat from what I've bee reading, but it wasn't bad at all. The heatsink read a constant 95F the whole time.

This thing doesn't budge off 180F. Pretty neat. Here's another short video...

Just wanted to post my schematic for my heater controller. Nothing new, just a main contactor, switched with 110V.

Thanks for the schematic Shine. It may not be anything "NEW" but it sure is straight forward, very clear, and understandable. I'm am sure more than one itchy head will be sated with your efforts.

Thank you!!!!!

Yes thanks shinendine, very detailed and much appreciated. I'm still trying to find a good used box, I hadn't wanted to shell out the money yet. I will find a used one if I look long enough. I love your setup
