acetonemia

Post by hoody79 »

looking through the vet room for some other stuff for a downed cow and found a bottle of Ketamalt.

So aparently its for treating acetonemia in livestock and especialy goats with twins late in pregnancy where the damand of the kids causes a build up of acetone in the blood...

Veterinary Use Only

Active Ingredients: Each 30 Ml Contains

Vitamin A6000 IU
Vitamin D1500 IU
Calcium Hypophosphite 270 mg
Manganese Hypophosphite 68 mg
Ferric Hypophosphite 68 mg
Sodium Hypophosphite 550 mg
Cobalt Sulphate Heptahydrate 32 mg

Malt 15.75 g !!!

Can someone smarter than me explain what all the ingredients do and could it provide an oportunity to make acetone free brews???

Twenty bucks a litre, Smells good too

I'm not 100% sure but I bet Liquid Malt Extract would probably be easier to get, cheaper and ferment better, plus, probably has more malt per liter. Just guessing here.
