Mash and Barrel Question

Post by alpinestars114 »

In a few hours I will be driving 5 hours to get food grade 55 gal drums for my mash but one of my friend has some that had dye in the barrel for bark. the dye is animal safe your cats and dogs can eat it and be fine. Now my thing was could I just clean these ones out which will be for free and I wont have to drive nearly as far. Would it be worth it to use the ones my friend has and put a 55 gal trash bag in the barrel before I make my mash? Or would the plastic bag mess with the mash? I'm a CJ Major and just learned they make wine in prison with trash bags and its actually safe but it doesnt get as hot as the mash. Any thoughts? PLease get back asap I plan on heading out at 10am thanks for reading
