Smooshine Recipe
OK, I have a pretty amazing recipe that I kind have been experimenting with. I thought Id share it and see if anyone wants to try it. After trying to make a descent sweet feed recipe, I found that it was impossible to actually find Sweet Feed in this part of my area that didn't contain pellets. Pellets are a mess so I decided to do some reading and searching around. I went to my local feed store and found a product called Pacer from a company named Blue Seal. I purchased the 50 pound bag for around 20 dollars. After getting home and opening it, I found that the smell was amazing!!! Seriously, I wanted to try a spoonful
I basically followed some of the sweet feed recipes that I found in the forums to prepare it. First I Poured around 4 or 5 inches in the bottom of my 8 gallon bucket. I then boiled about 3 gallons of water and added it to the grains. The house smelled delightful! Next I added about 2 pounds of apples and 13 pounds of sugar. I left it sit about an hour or so and then added another 3 gallons of water. The only yeast I had was some turbo yeast, so I added the packet to it and put the lid on it. I left the mash work for about 5 days. It stopped bubbling after 3 but I wanted to give it a few days more just in case. I removed almost half of the copper mesh from my reflux and ran it through. It started about 152 proof and about a gallon later it was 135. I went ahead and shut it down. I cut it down to 110 proof and bottled it up. My girlfriend loves Blackberry flavored anything so I thought I would be the great boyfriend that I am and add some Blackberries to it. Although, it is Dec and I am in the Eastern US so needless to say, Blackberries are hard to come by. I did have some Blackberry extract in the cabinet that was left over from a previous experiment. I added about an ounce to the product. Then I threw in some Oak chips and left it alone for a couple weeks. I got it out last week and tried it. This stuff is amazing!!! I gave a bunch of friends some samples including some "real moonshiners" to try. Everyone loved it!! I poured out a few pints for New Years to celebrate the new year with and had a great time. I included a pic of what the finished product looks like and what a pint did to my best bud!!! Feel free to try it... attachment=1]out cold.JPG[/attachment]

If you were a fisherman, you would be the master baiter....

Textured, high-fat, fully fortified, vegetable oil AND Turbo yeast..... sounds delish!

I use pacer myself. My finish product is very smooth and very good tasting. It does produce alot of oils. I also use the apples and in about 2 to 3 weeks with the fresh cut apples and some concentrate and brown sugar you have some very very high proof very good tasting product. I took some ice fishing last weekened and my buddys called me the next day and were amazed at the tast and the fact they slept for 15 hours when they got home!

I have a very assertive way. It's wake up, move your ass, or piss off home.
