long term in jars?

Storing in mason jars..noticed some of wifes 2 yr old canning jars are all but impossible
To open...anyone have that issue w hootch? Sure hate to add oak n watch it age for a few years then

You won't have a problem because you won't be vacuum sealing your hootch. When preserving food, the lid is put on while the contents are steaming. The steam condenses forming a vacuum.

An old latch-key style bottle opener opens mason jars quite easily.

Yeah once the screw off ring is off...Theres jars she left the rings on that are two yrs old and the rings wont come off short of a pipe wrench...

scalding hot water for a minute around the rim almost always loosens em up.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

Try holding them under hot water for a few minutes. That should help
