uplanders flute build
i been reading all the great info on here about flutes and thought i would give it a try. i have never built anything before so this should be fun.i have a 15.5 gallon keg i dont know if i will go with gas or electric. i ordered 3 ft 4in dwv and 1 ft of 3in. i was on pex supply looking at fitting and i have no idea what ones to buy . this will be a slow build i have very little money so i have to make sure i order the right fittings
Re: uplanders flute build
Very ambitious build for some one that has not built before. If you can everyone that has converted to electric never looks back. Good luck and keep us posted with pics during the build.
Re: uplanders flute build
heres to what bushman said. electric is defiantly more controllable in my mind.

Re: uplanders flute build
what kind of copper fittings do i need to order ? like what is street and cxc? my 4in copper is dwv do my fitting need to be dwv? im a copper noob but i will get there with all you guys helping.
Re: uplanders flute build
c&c is where the pipe slips into both ends of the fitting. Street or FTG has 1 end that the pipe slips into and 1 end that slips into the pipe
Re: uplanders flute build
WRONG!!!!! Street---- One end fits over pipe and one end (same size as pipe) fits in fitting.c&c is where the pipe slips into both ends of the fitting. Street or FTG has 1 end that the pipe slips into and 1 end that slips into the pipe

Hi, I work for a plumbing supply house, will be happy to help answer any questions you have. Cant ship, not looking to sell any thing, just to help.
Copper fittings are commonly availible in two grades, pressure (standard) and DWV. DWV is a lighter grade, used in Drainage,Waste, and Venting. It is more cost effective in our hobby, I'm hard pressed to think of an application unsuitable to us.
As mentioned earlier, "street" or "fitting","ftg" means one side of the fitting will fit over pipe and the other side is the same size as pipe. This allows it to fit into another fitting, which makes for a compact, spacesaving fitting. Street fittings are available in 90's,45's, reducing couplings, and even male and female threaded adaptors.
Feel free to post what you need, or pm me, happy to help
