has anyone ever heard of or tried using dry molasses no one sells liquid molasses in my city

or what if i used sweet feed i want a better rum than straight brown sugar like i been using

Technically, sweet feed would be a whiskey. One of the best rums I've made was a combo of white and brown sugar w/ no molasses. Are you not satisfied with your results?

Not really whiskey can't have sugar added.

How about panela?

@Washashore yes and no my rum has a really odd taste to it, its good just not what im lookin for in rum.

I have heard but never tried: diluting then melting the molasses let it stand and the fillers should settle to the bottom. As I said I never tried, it seems like a big mess to clean up after. ???

Here s a simple rum,
10 pounds of sugar cane sugar
4 pounds of sugar cane brown sugar
6 gallons of water
Yeast
It makes a good rum. Age it in some toasted or non toasted whit oak chips.
