How many home distillers still drink store bought liquor?

Little or nothing to do with distillation.

My drink of choice has always been rum, (not the expensive stuff) but I drink quiet a bit. Since I have been making my own the store bought stuff really sucks. (Makes me think of drinking a mixture of hearts and tails) My problem is that I haven't been able to make enough to keep up (with me). So my next steps have been to start 15 gallons of wash (almost done) and working on getting a 15 gallon still setup (still working). Maybe I can get ahead of my habit and enjoy some trial ferments. I would like to try some fruit flavored stuff, anyone have any suggestions for this?

Not sure on the fruit-flavored stuff, I remember someone on here suggesting throwing the fruit into the spirit run, but that could lead to scorching. I'm a purist with rum, so I don't flavor it at all. White dog or oak aged, nothing else. But you could try steeping some dried fruit in a muslin bag in your finished product. Or even in the low wines for a few days before doing the spirit run. Might get some carryover. And I feel your pain on running a small still and not being able to keep up with yourself. After I finish my boat project the very next thing on my list is buying a bigger stock pot and building a beauty for myself, not just a boiler and condenser. Good luck to ya!
I have a very assertive way. It's wake up, move your ass, or piss off home.

I still buy stuff at the liquor store occasionally, but only high quality stuff that I don't/can't personally make like tequila or something really interesting. The last thing I bought was some whiskey from a local distillery, distilled entirely from Racer 5 IPA (one of my favorite microbrews). It was expensive, but I had to try it. The flavor is nice but it smells kinda like stale beer, but it is growing on me. I haven't bought vodka or rum at all since I started making my own. Some friends that have tried my home brew vodka have brought me some top shelf commercial vodka, mine is cleaner and smoother, but some say it has less character.

I agree with Odin, I am more sensitive to headaches with commercial spirits now, and also with red wine.

My goal is not to. I just recently started this pastime and I'm working on building up stock.

I typically drink whiskey. I've got some corn/barley/wheat aging. Single malt low wines accumulating. A UJSSM bastardization started. What I have bought recently is from "artisan" distillers or something I have not had before.

No...as in NEVER......at least since 08...I will never need a drink so bad, that I'll buy likker!

Yes I get bad headaches, hangovers, etc. I've gone to friends houses and they offer a drink and I'll just say "no thanks". Depending what they have, I'll add a "I'm driving" to ensure they don't push. If it's somebody who knows I make my own, I'll just go out to my truck. (Always have a couple 750ml bottles and at least one 2L bottle of 7up behind the seat..just in case)
Many people laugh, does he have a drink? Heck, if he has his truck, he's got likker!

No, I would never even consider buying likker, $30 for a 750ml of heads/tails compared to costing me about $4.50 for hangover-free whisky...not even close.
Numerous 57L kegs, some propane, one 220v electric with stilldragon controller. Keggle for all-Grain, two pot still tops for whisky, a 3" reflux with deflag for vodka. Coming up, a 4" perf plate column. Life is short, make whisky and drag race!
