question on finished proof run
Need some advice from the Masters.I finished a run over the weekend and here is what i had. Please let me know what you think or what i should change.Started off with a 10 gal wash. Srained and into cooker.heated 175 with in 20 min had some clear product flowing through a coffie filter into my catch jar.Proofed 1st jar 120. 2nd jar 115.3rd jar 110 and so on.loosing 5 proof each jar until i reached 85 proof and shut it down because it stoped dripping...I wanted to start off with store boughten yeast.{fleshmans] Could that be why my proof on first run is so low.120.Would brewers yeast up the % of my proof? Any help would be great. THANKS

Re: question on finished proof run
Higher ABV in higher ABV out. Sugar content determines wash ABV. Not the yeast.
It'snotsocoldnow.

Re: question on finished proof run
Why did it stop dripping? It should never stop dripping, unless your boiler is stone empty.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

Um, .....not enough heating power applied to the boiler charge.jimdo64 wrote:Why did it stop dripping? It should never stop dripping, unless your boiler is stone empty.
