I love the history and folklore that surrounds the 20's/30's. I am a huge fan of the old country blues, of which there are many Whiskey themed songs(Bell Street Whiskey by Blind Willie McTell is one of the best). I am not too big a country/bluegrass fan but Doc Watson kicks ass and takes names.

Some of my favorite shineing tunes are "good corn liquor" by steeldrivers. "Dooley" by The Dillards. And Carolina Moonshine Man by Liu Ried & Carolina. Doc Watson was from western N.C. and was a legendary banjo picker.

Im a little late coming in on this but I have listened to Lou Reed & Carolina for several years. Even back to Ricky Skaggs days. They are just great. Carry on and Cheers!

I thought Doc was a guitar man - what the bluegrass people call a "flat picker".
