plastic drum
hey everyone i have a plastic 55 gallon drum gave to me i was looking on the barrel....it had some kind of solvent cleaner in it my question is would it be safe to clean this barrel out with dish soap and use it to fermeint in? would the plastic still hold any of the chemials behinde?

I wouldn't use it for anything but a water cooling tank. It's not worth taking a chance for anything else

If its had anything in before, assume it is going to leach whatever it was into your wash. Nothing in this world comes for free. I use plastic (HPDE) barrels for fermenting but they've had nothing in them other than air since they were made. Not the cheapest option, but I value my vital internals much higher.
