Moonshiners episode said yeast isn't necessary.

I just saw an episode of Moonshiners that said that when mashing all grain malted corn, you not only don't need yeast, but by not adding yeast, you won't get hangovers. that it's the yeast that gives you hangovers.
Is that right?
Can you mash without yeast?
