Ageing ujssm on Tasmanian oak??

Post by Thebigthumpa »

I am about to start aging my ujssm, and can't get my hands on any American oak, but can can get onto Tasmanian oak pretty easily? Will it be fine or similar to char and age on this instead of American oak??

Tasmanian Oak is really just a commercial name for Mountain Ash, a eucalyptus. I should imagine that the flavor imparted would reflect this and ruin any spirit. But you can try it with a quart, and see what happens
I told the officer "I have my .45 on my hip, a 9mm in the console, and my shotgun under the seat" He said "Damn! What are you afraid of?" "Nothing" I replied...

Make a case of it and put a label on it with Taz the Tasmanian Devil on it. After taking a big swig you could make sounds just like him in the cartoon..."wackum makum whackem smackem uuuggh whaaaaa gigigelziggle har har wa wa kapootie!"

Don't do it, end of story
Eucaliptus oil is toxic in moderate amounts , try getting some white oak flooring samples. Spin some horse shit story about how you want to do the kitchen in it but ya need a sample to show the trouble and strife

Any old English oak trees around?, the colonists went crazy planting them check out parks in older neighborhoods, cause English oak is French oak and just fine for ageing http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quercus_robur" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Please don't try Tassie oak

you do want to check into that, eucaliptus and the hybred liptus have a natural defence compound to ward off insects. do a little research on the taz. oak to see if that carrys the same compound.
today marks the dawn of a new error.
