It was great to meet you Bushman

Post by OlympicMtDoo »

Had a chance to hook up with Bushman the other day for a little visit, it was nice to put a face to an avatar. We are pretty close to the same age and share many of the same interests not the least of which is making good booze. I feel a bit bad that I had no product ready to share but did get a chance to sample a couple of Bushmans drinks and I must say your whiskey is mighty good my friend. If I hadn't been driving I could have sampled a bit more of that. I owe you one, next time I'll be sure to have some ready, in fact I'm doing a run tomorrow. Just wanted to sat it was good to meet you, I'm sure we'll do it again sometime. OMD

I do not know how it was for you to meet, but somehow, with the homedistillers I met, it is as if you are almost brothers. An instant feeling that you seem to know each other, speak the same language, share something important.

I remember having OverEducatedIdiot over and the connection was like instant.

Last week we met with dozens of distillers and I saw the same happening. People talking to each other as if they know one another for years.

Yes! Bushman and I will meet in a year time. Already looking forward to it!

OMD and I do share similar hobbies, by the way I am smoking 5 humpies (salmon) as I type this. They were caught on the Skagit River! In almost 4 years on this forum I have met 2 members, can't wait until they make it legal as I think we will see another explosion of ideas and products once like minds can meet, talk, and share ideas in person without fear. Just the dialog back and forth get's the old thinking cap going!

OMD someday we will have to plan a fishing trip or get out in the islands someplace!

Yah a good trip up in the Islands would be great. I spent the whole weekend runnin the still so I do have good drink to share now. Did two strippin runs on Saturday and a sprit run on Sunday, started at daylight and finished about half time of the Seahawks game, so it really went pretty well and the drink is exclent if I do say so myself.

That sounds like you had an awesome time.

I've met a few guys from my friends Motorcycle Club who do some runs,
it's awesome to talk to someone else who understands what you're saying without it
having to be explained.

I've always wanted to see something for distillers like they do for famers,
like at the state fair, where they all show up with their best stuff to see who gets the gold ribbon.

I'm not good enough yet to be a competitor in something like that, but man,
I sure would like to attend and taste!
"You know, you can just buy that stuff right up the road" he said.
I just smiled, and said quietly, "No you can't".

I am leaving tomorrow for 10 days in the San Antonio area for a short get-away. I asked for suggestions from members of the forum on things to do, places to go, and restaurants in the area. This is a great way to get good suggestions when visiting for a short time. YukonJack sent me a PM with very detailed suggestions while there, he took sometime and thought into putting it together and I really appreciate his and other members from the area and the information they gave. We have some great people on this forum and I would like to meet more, just wish it was possible!

I was in San Antonio one time many years ago when my brother was stationed there in the Airforce, I remember well I had a brand new 1976 Ford pickup 4X4 pretty fancy truck for those days but being from the great PNW airconditioning was a not standard equipment. My vaction at the time came the 4th of July so me and a buddy drove my truck to Texas and if I hadn't driven there myself I would have swore I had died and went to Hell, it was so hot that all I could do was lay in front of the air conditioning at my brothers place. Even at night it was 95, I drove around and checked stuff out at night but not for long even then, I certainly don't want to offend any of our members from Texas that was just my experiance and being from a much cooler climate it damn near killed me, but this time of year maybe it will be a bit cooler for your visit Bushman have fun. OMD
