Built a 6.5 gallon boiler that I am gonna use to make some cedar oil. We have crazy flees around here, and it will have other uses. Anyone have experience running essence oils like this?
I soldered the SS bowl and boiler together...and put a small bowl that wing-nuts down tightly. I had to have a hole big enough to pack in the cedar needles so this removable bowl should work fine; gonna seal it with flour paste as this should be easy to do on this still-- maybe PTFE gasket.
Poped the bottom off a thick walled glass vodka bottle-ground it smooth. This will be the hydrosol/oil separator.
Anyway, I was curious about scorching issues and how much material to start with?

Re: Cedar Oil
I was just talking with googe about essential oil distilling. I've never dealt with cedar though.
