ebay heat controller

Post by sugar_daddy »

Ive read all the no-no's on ebay heat controllers from china & seen posts on building your own but i feel like its a little out of my range of knowledge. Im looking for a unit i can buy for around $100 to control a 2000w water heating element. There are a few on ebay listed as variac controllers that claim to control vibratory feeders but also list resistive loads & heating as potential uses. Will this do...?

I've seen some criticism of them as well, but usually from folks that don't use them. Many members here have started using them in the past several months, including myself, and seem very satisfied with the quality and performance. They are a very simple and inexpensive setup for those who don't have a lot of money to spend or lack the technical skills to build one from scratch. Works for me.

Im just now buying the only prefab 5500 watt ssr kit I could find on ebay. 350$. I would rather buy one from mulekicker's post in the classifieds but he is either away or not replying to my PM's.

My experiences with chinese electronics has been nothing but positive. Not everything I've owned from china is that way, but ALL of my favorite electronics in the house are off brands you've never heard of, made in China. Shipped 2-5 weeks from hong kong for .99 cents to my door. :)

I just read the detailed specs, the price, completely ignore the reviews, and it works for me.
