induction heat

Post by jonnyp2912 »

Hello, I am fairly new to distilling but have been making brews for some time. I have always looked for a controlled heat to steep my wort in beer and after making a still a controlled heat for that. I deiscovered I can hold a induction burner at a perfect 155 degrees Fahrenheit for grains in wort then changed my still pot to a stainless steel induction pot. I can only run a 2.5 gallon batch at a time but at 180 degrees I was rewarded with a half gallon of 140 proof sour mash through a single stage pot still. It takes longer to heat up and runs at a drip but is worth it. Spend the $125 and take your time amd forget direct intense heat. Your friends will thank you later.
