blending
I collecting low wines from 3 generations of ujssm and did a spirit run. I have these aired and uncut at this point. I have gen 4 stripped and gen 5 in the fermenter. When I get my next bacth of low wines run through the still is it reccomended to blend the spirit runs of gen 1-3 and 4-7 (after the cuts are made)? Im sure this will boil down the personal preference but I would like to hear some tried and true. I think I am going to seperate my cuts and run the heads and tails (feints) of the gen 1-3 with the low wines of gens 4-7.

Re: blending
I would pull the hearts out and drink them. And save the feints for an all feints run. After you have collected enough to do a full run. Diluted to under 40% of course.
You are right. It's all personal preference. So you will get as many opinions as you do posts. And it will basically tell you what you already know. That there are many ways to skin this cat. And only you can figure out what best for you.

+1
Some say an all feints run can make the BEST drop.

+another 1 Ive had great luck with all feints runs and/or adding them to already twice distilled whiskey and running the whole thing again. Very very tasty!bearriver wrote:+1

Edit: PS - Or even dumping them in with the strip, effectively giving them a third pass while the base whiskey gets it usually 2 pass. Feints be tasty stuffs fo sho.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.
