Rewiring PID Controller from 120v to 240v

I currently have a temperature controller I built that runs on 120v.

I'm moving up to a larger heating element within my still which will run at 240v

My issue is I'm trying to figure out what the best route would be to rewire my temp controller to 240v.

I know that while the PID controller and solid state relay can handle the increased load, I'll have to upgrade the connecting wires to 10 gauge.

I also know that the 240v plugs in my apartment (for the dryer and stove) currently use an outdated 3 prong style (2 hot leads and one neutral/ground).

Using the wiring diagram below, would I run both hot leads from the 3 prong plug to the switch and then into position 1 on the PID controller (JLD612 Controller)?

Also, is there anything I should add to this such as an inline fuse?

you run both hot leads to the same terminal you gonna see smoke.
Be aware that running 110 for your PID power from a 240 cct with no neutral can be risky and allow things that are grounded to become energized with any failure. Thats why they went to a separate neutral.
# wire 240 is still used but only for ccts that require no 110

What I would really recommend is get rid of the PID setup and go with a standard resistance SSR and pot controller.
