UK recommendations for 54mm pipe to sanke connection

Post by Matilda »

Hi all,

I'm from UK and I'm REALLY struggling to find suitable connectors for a 50litre sanke keg with a 54mm column.
I'm planning to use the same keg and connector for a Pot a Still, aswell as a Boka.
I did toy with soldering a 54mm coupler to the top of the keg, and then just dropping the column into it. (Sealing with ptfe)

Any thoughts?

Other than this, there is the flange, but I can't find a clamp which fits...unless I'm missing something?

There's a lot of advice on this topic in aus/us etc, but the pipe is different in uk :/

Sorry...

I've got 50mm tri-clamp for mine but I saw that someone wrote post about 2" clamp holding 54mm pipe. Try looking up easy flange. 50mm stainless TC connector will fit inside 54mm pipe with stay-britte flux and solder you can join them together. If you know good tig welder they can be weld together as well.
Vodka consumed wisely is harmless even in large amounts.

I bought this set a while ago from this guy, it comes from hong kong, received it in about 10 days, he does just the clamps too if that what your after, great quality too, and the ptfe gaskets are always out of stock in the uk from my experience

Thanks, do you find the clamp fits nicely onto the sanke, or does it require the bottom ferrule?

Not sure what do you mean by sanke 2" tri clamp fits perfect on 30L keg and 50L one. I will measure the dimensions of my fittings and keg connector and post some pics later if you want.

im uk based and the ez flange method to sanke kegs works great,

repeat std 2" 64mm triclamp works great- make your own flange though- (i hammered the jesus out of the pipe and added to the rim with solder, i think the copper wire soldered looks easier)

you want to stay below the £15 total cost to avoid import tax BS- it gets pricy once the shipping company gets involved aswell

I've picked up a 64mm tri clamp and a matching ferrule today, and it appears that the ferrule and the keg connect very nicely.
I think I'm happy to go with that!

Thanks for your help all :)
