Is it possible that we have an "underage yoot" here (in my best Joe Pesci voice)?? Really wanting someone to just "give" him the answer already?

I mean hey - this board can be frustrating with all of the learning possibilities present!

As I have said before, if you really get into this hobby, you will learn - Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Art, Craftsmanship, Metalworking, Woodworking, and perhaps some Law.

RightLightning - take a deep breath and pause. Take the time to read through the material (yes - it will take a while). If those that have experience know that you have put in the effort to try and learn yourself, you will earn some credibility and perhaps figure out some of the answers on your own. This is NOT a hobby to rush into looking to make a quick quart or 2 and then go off and party - you'll not have an enjoyable experience.

I think it's the opposite.

Evidence point #1: Diabetic. Could be type 1, but I am guessing type 2. Not typically a young person's condition.
Evidence point #2: This statement
Whatever. If that is what I really am, it is not likely something that I would be able to change, considering my age.
I think what you have is just some dude that just wants to get drunk as cheaply as possible. I am surprised at the time many senior board members are giving to this one :?
Easiest way to avoid being on a TTB list is to not purchase a boiler, full column, or condensor from a retailer. Build your own.

I see no need to worry about this guy, call it natural selection if you will, survival of the fittest.

He says he is diabetic and then in his intro post says he drinks a full PINT a day of 100 proof (16oz). Im not diabetic nor do I have anyone close to me who is diabetec but I do know diabetes and alcohol do not mix well. Here are a few facts about drinking alcohol and diabetes. Alcohol can have adverse affects on diabetes medicine, it can cause you to make poor food choices which can affect your blood sugar, alcohol stimulates your appetite, which can cause you to overeat and may affect your blood sugar, alcohol can cause flushing, nausea, increased heart rate, and slurred speech these may be confused with or mask the symptoms of low blood sugar causing you to not seek proper treatment.

Most people recommend if you are diabetic that a woman have no more than one drink a day and a man no more than two drinks a day, In our case of distilled spirits that would be 1 1/2oz counting as one drink so for a man thats 3oz total a day. This guy claims to be drinking more than 5 times that. At that rate his luck will run out real quick.

Im not at all bashing drinking, or diabetics, clearly this guy is not the most in tune with making good decisions to start with as we have all seen in his posts. So add poor decision making with diabetes and alcohol, I just think the likelyhood that this particular situation will end badly it VERY VERY high.

wow, missed the "drink a pint of 100 proof a day" ... shit, that is like 4 times the recommended dose of likker a day ... maybe his liver will blow up with his no cut likker before the diabetes works him over

Right Lightning, what you seem to be looking for is concentrated flavors like Lorannes:
http://shop.lorannoils.com/templates/gr ... oupGuid=52

They can sometimes be found in the baking section of supermarkets or they can be bought online. Most do have color but many are very light. Also, they are called "oils" but are not really oils and are water soluble.

That is precisely where I currently stand, with the recipe that is printed right on the package of turbo yeast. It is simple, high yielding, with no fuss, and no muss.
You are partially correct
However you ignore the information not only on this site, but the info that is given to you.

Yes, the turbo pack tells you what to expect. But like I said, you have NO IDEA what you are doing. Will you know when your ferment has stalled, or the temp is too low, or if it has completed? Yes this shit says "48 hours" duh duh duh, but I have heard of these gimmicks going from 48-hours to 2 weeks - how will you know when it is done.

Too funny, like Mr.P said - just get a damn hydrometer and clam yer cakehole - you are pissing away a bunch of coin on fuckin turbos, you obviously have money, so cough up a few bucks for the tools ... then again, don't - hopefully you slam 50 lbs of sugar into 5 gallons of water and then get discouraged due to economic loss.
