There are at least two different sizes of caps. You can order those from most homebrew shops, but for me I don't ever use caps, just put a plug of paper towel in the hole. It alows what ever I have in the jug to breath, like a wooden barrel does. At lest that's my thinking.

From the picture they look very similar to some I have. I have found that 36mm screw caps work, as well as #6 stoppers depending on what you are using them for! Find something that measures mm and measure the opening to find the right size if you want screw caps!
Well, between Scotch and nothin', I suppose I'd take Scotch. It's the nearest thing to good moonshine I can find.

I'd whittle me a wooden stick for a little Authenticity or maybe a cork. If you do metal or plastic tops I'd put something under and use as the seal that was alcohol safe. Good score. Id like to have bunches of those.

I use corks. Figure if I make a mistake allowing for head space, it's better to pop the cork than burst the jug.

I've ordered from this site - http://www.widgetco.com/cork-stoppers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow . They have instructions on the site about how to determine what size to order. I have some 1/2 gallon and 1 gallon jugs much like yours that I will be ordering stoppers for. I've also ordered a couple of their jar stoppers for some wide-mouth 1 gallon pickle jars - hope to use them for aging.

I've also seen natural cork stoppers at Lowe's and Ace Hardware, but I don't know if they have anything large enough for the jugs. Measure the diameter of the jug opening and then buy the stopper with the next smaller diameter (narrow end).

I get the 38mm growler caps from Amazon. A couple of bucks a dozen.
