20l ss stockpot for $10.00 at Dollar General. Was supposed to have a glass lid, but it was nowhere to be found. Was able to talk them down. Perfect for sugar inversion!

Well i gotta take some picks for the scope of things but i got two very lage elec panels for free. One is 3'x1' and the other is 3'x2.5' . Then i got 10' of 2" for free and a whole assortment of 2" and 3" fittings although some arw solderd together and quite oxidized. On another trip i got a strange 15.5 gal keg with a bung hole and a very large beer cooler on a stand for free. I think i did alright with all this.

Cleaned up my panel box and she came out looking like a new penny. I'll start ordering parts for a new control box soon.

Just finished making the bottom that was missing for the flip up to store the drip tray on this antique icebox plus added a new finish. Already storing some of my booze in it!

I know a bunch of people have stated they buy yeast at Costco, Bj's, Sam's etc....wholesale but finally got around to getting a membership! I can't believe how badly I was getting ripped off buying yeast from the grocery store!!!

I was paying $5.99 for a jar 4 oz. of Fleishmanns. Just picked up 2 lbs from Sam's Club for $4.88 (naturally I grabbed 4 lbs)

Grocery store = roughly $1.50 per oz
Sam's Club = roughly $0.15 per oz!!! Could not believe the difference, had to look twice!!
Well, between Scotch and nothin', I suppose I'd take Scotch. It's the nearest thing to good moonshine I can find.

Got a bulkhead SS drain valve for my keg, for free. Sort of...

I stole it off my parrot after getting rid of the inline design, going with a more standard type. Luckily the seals were still in a junk box somewhere.

I find the sugar prices also a lot better (less than half a regular grocery store).

Yea I noticed the sugar was way cheaper as well!! I have a little bit of a stock saved up now, but I was eyeing those 25lb bags pretty hard. The hardest part will be convincing the wife that buying 50 lbs of sugar at a wholesale club will not draw peering eyes!!

Not a problem as many restaurants shop in bulk plus canning season is coming up at least in my neck of the woods.

I quit caring. A woman around 60 years old +, once asked me why I had a cart literally full of sugar bags. I tole her that my church was running a bake sale. Her husband grabbed her arm, started walking, and quietly said "Hunny, they aint running no bake sale".

My good friend Charlie found this 300 gallon tank buried in a trash pile on a chunk of land he just bought.
Jacketed and plumbed for a heat source. No top but I can easily make one for it.
Cost me a bottle, and a case of New Castle Brown.

Something that size could use some kind of automatic turning rotor to scrape the bottom while mashing. Now that is a score!!

Anybody in the STL area can get a 10'x3' sheet of 16oz copper for $160.00. The catch is it has damage corners but can easy be hammered flat with a block of wood. Normally it will run $240.00
IMG_20140612_002605.jpg
This was the best piece there and it had hardly zero damage just a slightly bent corner and a couple of bend marks. I had them cut it to fit in my truck.

Saved $600 bucks yesterday. Got 8 24v 240watt solar panels for $1300. This will give me 1440 watts for the main system. And 480 watts for the spring water pump house.

Picked up 5 feet of 2.5 inch copper tube, for next to nothing. A friend of mine "knows", and we "bartered" for it. Let's just say it probably cost around $3.00, give or take. It needs a good cleaning, and probably has a future as shotgun condensor build material.

Ten bucks for a USB thermometer. Had some trouble getting the software installed at first, but it's working ok now. If it proves useful, I might get some more.
