Wiring for AU application
Have a friend in AU who visited over the winter. He really liked my controller. I told him I could build him one, not thinking about the difference there. Apparently they use a single 240v power wire. Can I just use a 240v PID and fan, and just wire them like I would here for a 120v application (one hot one neutral) but use the correct 240v 30A wiring? Thanks again!

I'm not 100% sure.
But I'd put the ssvr in the hot leg.
And run the neutral unswitched to the heater.
Don't forget the ground.
It seems the folks down under use different wire colors than we do.
The neutral is black.
The "active wire" is red or blue.
And the "earth" is green.

Thanks for the heads up on wire color! This is an SSR not SSVR but I understand.

Hmmm close, these are the Australian wire colors but i guess you'll use what you have.shadylane wrote:It seems the folks down under use different wire colors than we do.

Neutral is blue
Active is brown
Earth is Green
I think according to the Australian rules everything electrical has to be inspected by a licensed electrician before it can be used, some are more picky than others. I guess that will be up to your friend
