55 gallon copper drum
Has anyone ever seen one of these? It looks just like a regular barrel but it's copper and dirty as hell. It's got a real neat top, kinda looks like some type of a still. Picking it up in a few days(free) no pic's at this time. Not sure what to do with it ? might just scrap it I'm not sure yet.

Any idea what was in it or what type of industry it came from? Copper seems like an expensive choice for shipping/random storage, so was it ornamental? Any idea if it's got a coating?

Noooo don't scrap it. Haha. Chop about half out of the middle and solder back together to make it 25 gallons. Then roll up what you cut out of it to make a tube. Use that as a column

All you would need is some 1/4" tube for a condenser and a needle valve and packing and could make a boka. Cheap and easy

We've had one here on the farm all my life . Came from an uncle . I checked it out several years back and it turned out to be copper clad for whatever purpose it was designed for . Not a valid candidate for converting parts into a still .

Are they for rain collection maybe? I have a hard time thinking of other uses besides purely decorative. But I am also not the sharpest knife in the drawer.....
