on the parent site there is a recipe that says the use a bigg old rubbermaid trash barrel fora fermentor ....
is this ok ?
i hae been buying 40$ fermentors that are only 30liters
would be awesome if i could just use a trash can

look on the bottom for "ptfe 2" in the triangle. there is other ptfe numbers that are safe but just look for number "2"

The '2' is HDPE. not PTFE. HDPE is fine for the low ABV of a wash/mash

Get a 55 gallon screw top made for fermenting wine. Got mine from a scrap yard for $20 each.
