Is there an item that can be used to cover the connections on a keg heater element. I need to cover the wording for safety.
Thanks from Missouri

Re: exposed element connections.
It is not really needed. The electricity isn't going to suddenly bridge the gap. If you want added security there are kits sold online, and a few here that have used pvc pipe to create something similar.

Take a look at some of the e-build threads here. You'll see something that'll work for you.

If you are pretty good with the torch and want something nice looking viewtopic.php?f=85&t=46560" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
I think a bit of rubber tape covered with electricle tape would be excellent with this.
http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 15&t=46556 not a bad way to go either. It really depends on what your set up looks like.
I actually and all I did was click HD Google search at the top of the page and deleted nothing but added element guard. You can type in anything. easy peasy

Re: exposed element connections.
As others have said, won't hurt your rig to leave em exposed, but personally I have two inquisitive dogs, and a bad habit of spilling a little bit of wash when filling.
Burned noses and the release of magic smoke don't sound like anything I want to explain to swmbo!
Buy one of those little Tupperware containers.
Cut the top to fit round your exposed element, and use epoxy to glue it on.
A little rubber grommet to allow the cable out.
The base will then clip back on to the original lid, and everything will be watertight, but you will still be able to get inside should you need to do a bit of fixing.
Worked well enough for me, requires minimal building, and cost next to nothing.

It's much easier to cut a bit off than weld a bit on...

Re: exposed element connections.
I use a pvc conduit coupling, 1" I believe it is, and stick that over the element wires. Push it up against the outside nut on the element, run the ground wire out a hole in the coupling, and fill the whole thing with JB weld. This makes the connections permanent, but its a solid piece after that. No danger of ever touching the wires. It is waterproof and fully insulated.
