Ageing on oak with sugar mixed in?
Basically I keep finding anything I make dry. I was thinking to add a small amount about 50-100ml 100% maple syrup to my gallons ageing. I have sampled a bottle with some and it turned out great. Any downfall to this, It seems to pull out amazing flavors so hopefully its good for long term oak ageing. Will it seperate

Some sweeteners can separate due to temp or age. Honey, for example, can drop a brown protein in ethanol hours or months after mixing. But it can be filtered out.
While it doesn't appear to hurt the taste, some find in aesthetically wrong.
I would try anything in small doses until you have it right.
Bottom line if it tastes good to you, great!

Thanks for mentioning that about honey, it made me look if maple syrup would do that and turns out maple syrup could crystallize after time. It would probably make the whole processes useless.
