I do, this is one. I've since updated it with more text, but am having a hard time locating it in my storage...FreeMountainHermit wrote:do any of you use labels for safety reasons ?
Edit: You spurred me to make a label for my feints jugs. My imagination is racing.
If you fail, cut the bottom off for a really nice square bourbon glass. It's easy to make a clean bottle cut with a glass cutter, torch, and cube of ice. Soften it up with a handy abrasive. YouTube had many vids on the subject. The KYChemist wrote: I was just about to try my hand at it, on a nice square bottle from Town Branch Bourbon.

Ya, I started using labels, awhile ago.
I didn't use to use labels, the friends I gave some to, knew who made it. But then people at work heard me talking to a friend there, about my still,
now I have several people at work that get it from me, even a couple of my bosses. So I started using labels. It has "DEMENTED BREW" at the top,
then under it in smaller font it is Weber's definition of demented written out, then under that the date brewed, and proof. They are basic but work
just fine.

In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

Free love people. Remember, anything is possible in a world so seriously strange. My father attended a very large and expensive wedding on acid, where a man married his dog.

Re: Does anyone use labels?
Again I'm late to the party. Great labels everyone. My batches are often too small to bother with labels but I give away wine every year and thought I would show off some of my labels, all made with Paint Shop Pro X2.
This first one was the wine I gave out on Dec, 21st 2012 to help celebrate (?) the end of the world. The second one was the cherry wine I gave out this Christmas I also gave out some 2 year old plum wine that after aging turned out pretty good but was sure a pain to make. I had an abundance of tomatoes last year and some wound up as wine. Oddly enough there were only 2 takers of my "attack of the killer tomatoes wine", but quite frankly it is the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. Then we get to the hard stuff. Any Terry Pratchett fans might know about scumble It began life in the discworld as a sort of strong hard cider and later evolved into the strongest drink on the discworld which was without a doubt distilled. It's good for you, it's made from apples...Well...Mostly apples.
Last is my Panty Dropper label I often change the tint and add what fruit it is made from but this is the basic label.

Re: Does anyone use labels?
Currently there are far too many people on my Christmas list. But one of the requirements is to live or work within 10 miles of my house. Since I don't live in Michigan any more I think that disqualifies you. The other problem is I now only have enough left over for myself.MichiganCornhusker wrote:Wow, those are great, Cranky, how do I get on your Christmas list!!
Re: Does anyone use labels?
Cranky, those labels are great! Nice work. That Cherry Bomber one is sweet, you could use that for a cherry panty dropper or cherry bourbon too. The retro pinup Panty Dropper girl is sweet too!

Re: Does anyone use labels?
Thanks Jimbo. I was kind of thinking along those lines with the Cherry Bomber which is why I kept it kind of universal, so I can add additional wording as needed.Jimbo wrote:Cranky, those labels are great! Also similar with the Panty Dropper. Here is the version I made for my blackberry I like playing around with PSP and making labels and such. I think it is a really underrated program. One time as a joke I took a picture of one of the guys I work with of him on his boat. He hates Obama, so I added a picture of Obama with him holding up a beer and autographed with a nice personal note about treasuring the memory and made that his desktop background on his work computer. I spent about 4 hours working on it even going so far as to get down to working single pixels just to get everything just right. People still talk about it.
Re: Does anyone use labels?
It is fun for sure. I use beer labelizer for basic format, but often edit the images in GIMP first. And to get variation in font and text I'll use Powerpoint and dork with the word art styles and fonts/ features.
Its an incredible waste of time. ha!

kick ass! but i might just spend all night looking at the labelsbearriver wrote:PM me if you want me to make a label for ya, it only takes a second. I signed up at beerlabelizer.com, as referenced by Jimbo...
Thanks Jimbo!
The font kinda sucks but you can use a photo editing program to add different fonts.
Re: Does anyone use labels?
This is my first absinthe's label. The base spirit is a white bourbon (corn, rye, oat) and the recipe is a bit heavy on anise compared to other recipes around. Maybe I will post a photo about it's louché in the other topic later when I will have the right green weeds to paint it properly. Santé!
Re: Does anyone use labels?
...and this is my first gin, made with a distillate from 50% various fruit feints and 50% AG. I dare to call it "Tahitian" style because I used lime skin in place of lemon, and lime is a base of poisson cru - it is some kind of ceviche, made from red tuna, coconut milk and lime juice. Other than that the botanicals are more or less the same as in Bombay Sapphire East, with a little green cardamom and a few sechuan peppercorn to add a light numbing sensation on the tongue. It makes a delicious gin fizz.
