UJSSM oak chip aging question

Post by paramountciders »

My UJSSM has been in the bottle with oak chips for 9 days it has a very desirable caramel taste with cola i always drink it with cola but anyway should i remove the wood now or will the flavor still be there after 30 days? i am worried i could go to far and make it taste like wood

thank you

Uhhhh, I like the wood flavors in my whiskeys. But I'd leave out the cola. It's simply not needed. Make mine NEAT.

I am tempted to drink it neat i just cant get off the cola mixed with it like a cigarette addict. I left one bottle to sit longer we will see how that goes.

Think about it - the big boys leave theirs on oak for a couple of years and sometimes many years. But hey, hobbies are about experimentation, so leave some on oak and take some off and see which you like best.
