My new set-up

Post by Euphoria »

Well, I finally received my replacement PTFE gaskets for my new still, and so I assembled it all for the first time yesterday. Got it mainly from MIle Hi, but I also bought components from Brew Haus, Grainger, Brewer's Hardware, John M Ellsworth, etc. to get all my stuff. Washed it all, and now I'm ready to do my Vinegar and Sac runs. I have two fermenters up with about 12 gallons of rum wash going, which will be my first "real" run after cleaning.

Looks great! Why the 50 gallon water barrel though? Looks like you have a much bigger water resivior right behind your still.

I fill the 50 Gallon drum just before I need it. The water will be used up by my wife for watering the garden between runs, so it will always start off cool, and the water won't be wasted. I got a kick out of the thought of using my hot tub for a reservoir, but, as was mentioned, it's already too hot.
Thanks to all for the comments.
