I am thinking about building a crossflow condenser with CSST because the SS reflux still i am building would get really tall if the condenser was seated vertically.
I have some questions regarding this.
1. To prevent pooling and smearing the condenser pipe must be angled slightly on both sides so the condensate runs back to the column. How would i accomplish this with stainless steel? I was thinking about using 2 45 degree elbows, but that is a really steep angle. Having a hard time finding elbows under 45 degrees.
2. I believe the falling condensate would primarily run down the walls when exiting the condenser, instead of down the packing. Is a centering ring the only solution to fix this? (Trying to prevent using centering rings)
If there is anything else i should consider i would love to hear it.

Re: ss csst crossflow condenser questions
It can be off horizontal without being a "T"
A small spoon here centers the return, but don't get to worked up about centering the reflux. No matter how it penetrates the packing it will mix, vaporize and come back up. Centering rings have more detrimental effects than positive.CCVM http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... d#p7104768" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
