Introduction from Toronto, Canada
Hi everyone.
Greetings from Toronto, Canada! I am a big fan of classic cocktails, but have been moving into "straight" drinks (e.g. straight rum, straight tequila, etc.). I also love tinkering and am looking at making my own stuff at home.
I'm here on the forum to learn the ropes!

Welcome tendim, lots of Canadians on the forums! Since your starting out may I recomend that you start your reading with crankys post in novices called a little spoon feeding for new distillers. This one post will give you a huge step in the right direction! Enjoy the forums!

Welcome from a fellow Ontarioian. Lots of reading to learn the ropes. Wait to buy material before untill you've read till your eyes bleed. That way your not wasting your money.tendim wrote:Hi everyone.

Welcome from another Canadian, Toronto as well. Definitely put a lot of thought in to what, and how much of that, you want to make before starting. A couple months on my first and I had to upgrade. Lots of great info and great people on here to help find it or answer any questions.

Welcome. I'm from Guelph. Everyone has good advice. Read, read, read. Then start with something simple. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration. Nobody here made a world class whiskey on their first try.

welcome to HD Tendim...seeing as everybody advice is to read (good advice), im gonna say equip yourself with proper tools for measurement: pH meter (not Hannah), brix or SG reader (go with brix- im sure you need less sample size w a brix meter) and a alcohol meter-dont fret with a thermoniter-you dont need one
...dont forget to read

Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed , feels alone in a cruel world. Doctor says, "Treatments simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears."But doctor. I am Pagliacci."
