Duplast 28 liter

How many of our "rules to live by" are broken here?

A recent new member commented that he uses this type of still. To all.....Please don't consider it. I post the video to warn members and new distillers of the danger awaiting if you simply buy a cheap (and quick) product to use. On the outside, it looks benign. But it is fraught with danger. Plastics in every component of the apparatus (its hard to even call it a still).

So, if you've been tempted to buy or use one...DON'T. Read and read and read. There are many, much safer options available.

I saw that video some time ago...couldn't hardly belive my eyes..!
Besides the cooling and the tiny copperdome, he did about everything he could to make it dangerous..!
"Homebrewing at it's best"....?? :wtf:
It shows us the importance to ask new members for a picture if they state in their welcome thread " I have already build a still".
Cause they might as well have seen one of those so called "stills" on Youtube..

That's scarier than my friend's first still. How is the heating being done?

Yeah lets see... a plastic jug putting out high proof vapor right next to an electric fan... I don't know what he's running in the still but correct me if I'm wrong, the only way I ever got over 160 proof was to make a run, cut it off when the low wines hit around 50 proof, and dump it all in the still with the average proof being over 100 (which I have since learned is a bad idea, that best practice is to keep it at 80 or less on the second run). So if he's running off 190 proof, his charge must be pretty flammable already. I still wonder how he's heating that thing, I'm assuming its some sort of element inside the bottle, which seems dangerous as hell with a plastic bottle.
