Re: molasses with propiotic acid
I have 6.5 gallons of 45abv low wines that tastes OK. I'll add at least 3 gallons of what I saved from my last run which was 5 gallons from my first wash and 5 from my second so it blends together. The low wines don't really taste different from one another anyways. I'll run the spirit run when I can. This is my largest spirit run. This run is 4 times larger than my others. Can someone guesstimate how many mason jars I'll need for a full run? I'd hate to fall short. I have 16 quart jars already. And how many jars will be hearts? I'm hoping I'll have plenty to sip on for a while plus some to forget about for a while.

I ran the low wines mixed with backset(dunder) and I got 16 quarts all together(after about 1quart tossed) the first four I considered heads, I considered the next 8 hearts(the last jar of the groups abv was 68 off the still didn't adjust for temp). The other 4 jars had thick oil on them so I tailed them. I mixed the hearts jars together and poured them out. The abv is 68 at room temp. The blend tastes like a rum blended with espresso(I think burnt sugars/molasses) but I like it. I'm about to put 7 jars in my secret stash spot off premises cuz I'll totally drink it and I want to age some on maple. The heads/tails cut combined will run in my boka very soon. I added 4 lbs of frozen raspberries to the feints which I'll let sit for a few weeks and run again.(wife's idea) so I'll let you all know when I'm doing that. My feint when I mixed them in the 3 gallon carboy was at 52abv with 2 gallons of liquid with the berries its at 2.5 gallons.

I nuke aged one jar on apple maple chips half charred half toasted. I did 3 cycles and added a few drops vanilla between cycles. It turned out great. My head/tails jar with berries tastes like heavy raspberry rum so I'll run that soon.
