Help?

Post by OGML »

So here's the situation,
I went to my local hardware store and got a 4 ft length of 1/2 in copper pipe, and a 4 ft length of 3/4 in for a Liebig. I got some reducers as I figured that is what would be most likely used, but I guess I must be wrong! So if anyone could direct me towards the proper type of fitting for the water jacket and condenser tube, that would be grand!

1/2 X 1/2 X 3/4 Tee, but I'm sure that if you would have stopped and thought about it for a bit, you would have figured that out on your own

A quick HD search and you will see how to use them in your build.

Edit: posted at same time... and Michigan was a lot more helpful than me!
There appears to be an inverse relationship between tangible distilling problems and possible drinking problems...

You can build them without any reducers or Tee's but it takes a little finesse.

You could check out Rad's Reducerless concentric build for some idea's.

Ditch the tap talk and just read the post. I use a tablet for most of my needs and just optout of tap talk. Click the link that MCH posted a couple lines back. That doesn't get any more detailed of an explanation.

Maybe this will help...

the two 1/2 X 1/2 X 3/4 connectors have a stop built into them at the 1/2 inch straight through end, just file this down and the 1/2 pipe will pass through.

If you are gonna order them from a store or online make sure to say or write the tee like this. 3/4" ×1/2" ×1/2" that is the proper order. If you say it the other way you will get a bullhead tee.

+1 for the Kiwi. Go to your local hardware like lowes or Home depot etc. They will have them for $5 or less
