Christmas dinners??? What did you have???

Last minute we decided or I decided to make tamales for Christmas dinner. Well they take so long to build. I just got them finished. So we are gona have Christmas dinner tomorrow. Lol

120 tamales made. Still need to make a batch of salsa and some jalapeño corn.

Anyone else have some interesting dinner foods for the holiday?

For the first time (and probably from here on out) we went out for Thai dinner, I kinda like this not having to cook or clean.

Gives me time to tend to some fermentables I have going.

Had a good group of folks at my sister's place down the road this year so we had the triad...prime rib, turkey and ham with all the fixins and desserts.
Egg nog with my rum was a hit.

I still can't move.

Very traditional here, it stuffed a turkey with a stuffing of breadcrumbs milled cornflakes almond herbs onion garlic rum and a prune brandy and watered down gluhwein which was cooked and smoked with a couple of trout in the Weber on a mix of hickory, black oak and mesquite, they turned out great. Also had ham roast beef and pork with all the usual trappings followed by pavlova and plum pudding with brandied custard. We ate too much and drank too much and laughed too loud and paid for it the next day but what the heck, its once a year
Oh yeah we bought our selves a bottle of Tryconnell Irish single malt and once that was gone we drank Slivovich made from our own plums

I made a Rib Eye steak, some bacon and cheese mashed potatoes, and a fruit salad. My favorite cut of meat.

I'm in OR, we had the same thing... Except we had pecan pie.

Baked ham, sweet potato soufflé topped with pecan, steamed cabbage, home made biscuits, squash casserole , pecan pie, five layer chochlate cake, vegetable tray, fruit tray, and sweet tea.
I would have been happy with a platter of fried fish and pot of grits!

Swedish xmas dinner on the 24th . Meatballs, anchovy potato gratin, salmon, ham, eggs + 4 different kind of herring.
Irish xmas dinner on the 25th -27th. Roast spuds, mash, peas, carrots, ham, turkey, roast beef, gravy, stuffing. too much deserts to mention.

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, giblets gravy, baked sweet potatoes w/spiced honey butter, sour kraut, green beans, broccoli casserole, cranberries, fruit salad and cheese cake.
The joys was four generations of my family made to our home. My whole whole family was together at our table. Very blessed!
