Yup. Eating imported processed food is sketchy IMO.
I remember hearing about lead laden honey on us markets about a year ago. Now I check all my food for the country of origin, which only goes so far. But at least the FDA can control manufacturing here to an extent, as seen in this article.
Near as i can tell the best honey on the planet comes from a roadside stop south of hoover dam on the way to Kingman AZ.
The guy was selling a local produced dark desert honey that was to die for.
I think this arguement extends into local sourced food and the need for more craft distillers too.
However...Canadian Honey is delicious, safe and pure too. Feel free to buy lots, we need the money now that oil is in the crapper.
I buy my honey at the brew shop. It's supposed to be local wildflower honey. It certainly doesn't look or taste like store bought honey but maybe I should see if I could get one of our honey producing members to ship some my way (only kidding ) It's amazing how the Chinese manage to find a way to corrupt just about everything they sell I also read the other day that the FDA is no longer going to require country of origin labeling on meat, I wonder when thet will extend to other products. I try to buy USA Or Canadian produced foods whenever possible because I just don't trust food many other countries.
