Can I use a cup or two of a currently fermenting mash to colonize a new mash?
The reason I ask, I'm wanting to keep a yeast strain going and I don't have all of my supplies to duplicate it yet. So, I thought I'd just 'infect' my second (fresh) mash with my currently fermenting mash.
Thanks

The best time to harvest yeast for repitching is while it's actively fermenting
So I've been told

I usually rob a pint of true before tossing it and put it in the fridge.
