Yet Another Electric Controller

Post by gflower1 »

Controller is finally starting to take shape. Just waiting on my power meter to show up, expected delivery Tuesday, and will replace the paper outline on the front.
Insides aren't as pretty as I hoped but the continuity tests are all good.
The big switch on the back is to choose between 110v or 220v (figured 110 would be a good option for the apartment setup).
Alls left now is the power meter and a smoke test. Wish me luck!

First smoke test: success! Er, uh... How do you get the smoke back in?

Think I shorted the input poles with my multimeter probes. Literally blew the cap off the fuse. That's why we love fuses though, right?Image

Also, because I'm no electricity pro I made sure I had on my safety glasses and fire extinguisher.
Plus some rubber boots and welding gloves.
The latter may have been a bit excessive but I'm a scaredy cat.
