Whiskey Oaking and Flavoring

Post by C2H5O5 »

I was curious if anyone has cut their Aging Whiskey with something like Apple or cherry Juice to add a bit of sweet and/or flavor?

I made apple pie with white dog whiskey once instead of neutral. That was disgusting.

I tried to make a cherry PD with a bourbon, seemed good on paper, didn't like it at all.

I made apple pie with charred white oak aged grape brandy. It was fantastic. I don't put any sugar in mine, so it's basically just apple and spice flavor in oaked brandy. Doesn't last long.
