sweet feed

Post by bigbuk200 »

I have been using Producers Pride sweet feed with pellets and getting pretty good results. Just a tad messy. A lot of people are saying not to use it. The "All Grain" is not available anywhere where I live. Im thinking of making my own. Does anyone know of a good recipe for a sweet feed mash? Any info would be appreciated

There's also Blue Seal Pacer, a sweet feed with no pellets.

Tried the Pacer... after fermentation I had an oil slick on top. Read the ingredients and it has vegetable oil in it. Had to filter it out quite a few times but worked out ok.

I order sweetfeed from Walmart.com. $22.39 and they deliver it to my door in a generic gray bag.

Maybe you could have either racked it from below the top, avoiding the oil; or if there was a tap in the container...!

Filtering sounds like a lot of work that you could have avoided.

As long as it don't slow the ferment down I'd think of it as a "free anti puke additive!" And not bother filtering it off as it'll keep it from foaming up and puking and not bother the taste any.

I use Walmart too. Can't beat the price to deliver it to my door.
