Mile High's 2000 Watt Heating Element & Controller

I recently upgraded to a larger still, from a 2.5 gallon copper pot still, to a 13 gallon stainless steel milkcan still with the combo tower, along with the 110 volt 2000 watt heating element and controller from Mile High Distilling. I actually wanted, and ordered the 8 gallon, but they where out of stock, so Mile High offered me an upgrade to a 13 gallon at a price I could not say no to.

After cleaning it, I ran 5 gallons of mash through it on pot still mode, it took ~3.5 to 4 hrs. (stripping run) from start (starting cold) to finish.
In my 2.5 gal. pot still, it would have taken me almost twice as long, plus I didn't need to mix up any paste to seal with!

Don't get me wrong, I love my 2.5 gallon copper pot still and will continue to use it, especially when it comes to doing a second run.

I got the same setup but the 8 gallon version. I really dig it. I've brewed beer for years using porpane and I didn't want to go that route when I got in to distilling. It's very easy to control and easy to clean. Am a happy camper for now lol.

I've been eyeing their 8 and 13 pot for awhile now.. Milk cans are really hard to source out it seems and the only real affordable option is getting supply from china via alibaba. Nemco makes them in the states but once you add in shipping and getting the parts and welding it all up costs way more than their price.
