Well , I've posted over on 'The Liar's Bench' about almost getting a truck terminal manager killed by his own wife in Laredo TX and how canned pickled ramps are so good that you will even drink the pickle juice . Gives the same result as what almost got that terminal manager killed .
You have proposed something different . What's your plan to accomplish this magic elixer ?

Maybe add some garlic. That way if for some reason ramp-shine attracts vampires, you'll have the antidote.
I say give it a try and report back. We're all interested. I wish I had some brilliant advice, but I confess that is not the case.

Re: ramp flavored shine
If you love ramps, why not! I have never had any allium (the onion, garlic, chive, shallot, leek, ramp family) flavored spirit, but it sounds like an interesting idea. Might be great in a Bloody Mary or would it be a Stinky Mary? I have a few fresh ramps in my kitchen right now, I am going to macerate a few tonight. I think it may need just a little salt...
For those in areas not blessed with ramps, think garlic clove with a broad tender flat strap like leaf. The leaves taste much like mild garlic chives and the ramp is some where between a garlic clove and a shallot. Ramps are famed for the odar they empart on there fans. If you like garlic you will love ramps.
Infuse your shine with some sliced ramps, a little fresh basil and oregano. It would make a great cocktail mixed with clam juice and little capsaicin heat, would you call the drink white clam "sauce"?
Good luck and thanks for the inspiration.
"Pickling" fresh ramps with high proof ethanol will preserve spring year round. If it turns out it does not make a great beverage it will still make a great extract for the kitchen. I have used ghost pepper tincture for a few years now, not to drink as it is too bloody HOT, but to safely flavor/heat salsa, sauces and bloody Marys. Let use know if you like your results!
