Last fall the SOH and I bought our first house and moved in. Thought I would be able to do plenty of stillin in the nice little garage we have there but I suppose that was a pipe dream. Winter ended up being Too damn busy between some house work I had to do painting and drywalling etc. And coaching the highschool basketball team. Plus a heavy amount of ice fishing now that I'm back home where there are unlimited lakes and fish.
Anyway getting settled in for the summer as we run a hunting and fishing camp here in Canada and getting ready for the upcoming business and stilling season. I have a scotch that's been on oak since last fall that I am thinking of bottling and a sugarhead I made from the grains that's still sitting white in a bunch of jars waiting to have cuts made that will be going right on the oak that comes out of the scotch as well as some oak sticks I saved from a rum I made. Should give a bit of an interesting profile to a sugarhead anyway. Other than that the first run of the year is planned for froot loops. Something I haven't tried yet and bought a few boxes last fall that have been sitting unopened so it's time to give her a go. After that I'm thinking about trying an all grain sweetfeed that I will smoke some of the malt for.
Sure feels good to be back on the forums and back into the hobby!

Just saw you coach basketball. You probably know "Herbie" as well, not sure if you know him by that nickname, went to HS with him. He coaches as well.

Thanks for all the kind words about the house guys! Nice to not be renting anymore and aside from that finally being back in my hometown the real estate is very cheap so we are paying less to own then we did to rent. All is good!
Yeah just undertook the coaching this year now that I'm back home. Our athletic director here at the school I went to is super busy he is near retirement is the athletic director and guidance counsellor, and coaches most or all of the sports teams. So needless to say he was happy to have someone volunteer for on of his teams anyway and it was a lot of fun coaching for the guy that used to coach me.
Not sure of any "Herbie," although we don't head your way too much Moosemilk. Mainly head west and either north or south depending. Rainy, Atikokan, Red Lake stuff like that. Also my first year so getting to know all the other coaches still. Most coached against me when I was in high school and are still doing it. Had a decent season to boot lost a game by 3 points that would have sent us to playoffs. Tough loss but fun was had by all so I can't complain.
