Good score on some oak
White oak is very scarce around where I live. All pin oak and some red oak. I picked up some white oak flooring scraps from a job site they have to be cut. I found this guy selling on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-WHITE-OAK-LU ... XQTT9Rzw4g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Nice 3/4x3/4x12. Cut in half they'll be good for my bottle aging.

When I was a boy, I prayed for a bicycle. I soon learned G~d doesn't work like this so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.

make absolutely certain that that flooring has not been treated with anything.
call the manufacturer if you have to, you don't want to age your spirits with stabilizer.

Flooring is kiln dried and needs to be set outdoors for 6-to 9 months in the open to be properly dried.
They are small pieces and my not require that long but I'd go no less than 6 months.

Yea I checked that. No stabilization process, just kiln dried like Shine On said. Irregular cuts, a pain in the ass. But with these 20 sticks from ebay I'll get 60 4" sticks. 1 stick/qt. mason jar is da plan. When I exhaust this supply, Ill take Worm up on his offer.cob wrote:you don't want to age your spirits with stabilizer.

I bought some of those about 3 months ago. I put them outside to age. They look like they will work great.
