Raisins in whiskey

Anyone add raisins to a whiskey recipe? How does it affect taste,aging?

It'll add sugars back into the mix. Raisins in a rum...OK. In a whiskey...I wouldn't do it, although others may agree with you.

Just asking. I see " 2 or 3 raisins" in something as heavy as rum. Was curious to what it did..
