Snowball syrup

Post by Hilltop »

Anybody ever used it? I need a little more banana flavor in my Banana liquer. It's way cheaper than the stuff sold to flavor liquer. Even with bananas in the thumper the taste is light. I tried a little banana extract, and although it adds more banana smell to the nose it doesn't do much to the flavor. Snowball syrup can be found in both sugar and sugar free varietys and without dye in a clear version.

I've tried bananas several ways from mashing them to putting them in the thumper but the flavor is always light.

I seen a video once that had popcorn Sutton making banana brandy with a potstill, some of the blokes said it tasted like biting into a nice ripe banana. Wonder exactly how he managed to pull that kind of flavour through with bananas???

I think is was called LAST DAM RUN

Don't know. Could be promotional or perhaps he used a wine yeast. Macerating the fruit would pull more flavor than im getting. It's airing but light. Those blokes that hung around Popcorn may have liked any version of FREE liquer. I'm seeking a powerful banana taste, my testers think it's fine like it is, but again maybe the just dont want to upset the free liquer maker! lo! Maybe after airing it pulls on through, don't know yet. I'm gonna try the syrup about Thursday if it doesn't as so far the best was a single run with thumper to me. I do notice banana mash produces a lot of heads.

Back on topic, Does snowball syrup contain Glycerin? Surely somebody has fooled with this stuff.

what about macerating banana mash in your hearts cut and pushing the hearts through a pot with no thumper much like Odin's gin?

Sounds interesting Jon, but I'm done, syrup it is. It shouldn't take much as I have banana flavor just not as much as I would like. I'm gonna boost it with some type of oil or syrup.

I tried the lorans candy oil extract and others including Torini Banana cream syrup but still am not impressed. With Banana nothing is pleasing to my palate. Nothing i try seems to work when the liquer is above 40 proof except macerating.

I mentioned snowball syrup as I have read of two moonshine busts this year and snowball syrup was found at both so I assume the stuff must be favored by some. Anyone ever used it?

Can't say i have. I'd be wary with any Banana syrups or flavorings, as Banana is one of those flavors, that the artificial flavoring tastes NOTHING like the real flavor. Like watermelon flavor.
