End result of a couple days of copper hunting, soldering, drilling, swearing.
The heat source for now will have to be the BBQ burner, which makes it real awkward to use. I did notice as well that I needed 3 milk crates to get a better angle on the dangle.
I have a pile of milk crates.
I am going to put another on the side table and rig up a nice parrot with a measuring cup or two.
I ran a water run and made some judgements on the temps and angles and placements of things. I think this should be doable for now.
I'm happy so far and looking forward to figuring out where to get a bucket of black strap here in Ontario.

Good job . You'd be one of a few that comes in on budget

Gas burners are fine ...... other than the inherent fire risks .

Admirable work, although you can never contract with the government if you stay on budget.
Even though we're just a border apart, it seems you Canucks have trouble getting some items.
It's like you're in a whole different country or something

Have you considered deer attractant molasses? Cheaper and effective.
I've used it time and again in Crow's Rum.
I don't know if that's easier to acquire or not.

You will make some fine sippin Rum & whiskey with that potty, there a great weapon of choice for full flavoured brown spirits in my opinion.

I wasn't sure if this was sulphured or not. I had 2 buckets of that in my hand last week and just didn't know.

That's the exact moll I used, it packs plenty of flavor but a bit low on the sugars.
Crow and I have just about the same recipe other than he uses turbinado sugar while I use Dark brown sugar and either one will work.

Make enough wash for 3 stripping runs then do a spirit run and you'll be a rum sippin fool before you know it
